Poppa Falls
The Poppa Falls are located just south of the B8 at Bagani (Divundu).
The Poppa Falls are not as you expect them to be, at least not if you look at the name: 'falls', there are sertainly no falls in the area, you could better name them rapid or something like that.
You can visit the rapids via several bridges that have been build between the small islands.
The area around the Poppa Falls is truly manginficent. Only a limited number of tourists visit the Poppa Falls. This is a good mix for a quite and peacefull place to be.
Sitting next to the Okavango River you can see many different animals passing by, many birds but more spectacular: the hippo!
Just south of the Poppa Falls is a large game park bordering the border of Botswana (Mahango National Park).
The Poppa Falls are an excellent place to go when you come from or going to the Caprivi.
Accomodation
Near the Poppa Falls are some superb lodges, most of the lodges also have campsites available.
NWR also have a campsite next to the Poppa Falls, but for the view you need to be a little bit more to south, there you can find much better places.
With most lodges you can make boat trips, you'll then visit the Poppa Falls with a guide, at the end this guide, will search you some hippo's and crocodiles to see from a close proximety.
If you are staying in one of the lodges, ask your night security if he can wake you up if the hippo's are within the premisses of the lodge. This is a great way to see the hippo's at night.
