Duin 45

Dune 45 is sertainly not the biggest dune, but it is maybe one of the best known dunes in the area. This is because the shape and the shadow of dune 45 are so special that photographers love this dune.
Dune 45 is located on the way to Sossusvlei, it is one of the first 'big' dunes, and the valley is starting to get narrow just before you reach dune 45.

Most people stop on their way to Sossusvlei in dune 45, the tour operators also do this. But be warned, walking up a dune, is very hard, so don't spill all your energy at dune 4, because you don't to spare some for Sossusvlei.

Accomodation
The road to dune 45 is the road to Sossusvlei. The National Park does not offer any accomodation, the first accomodation available can be found in Sesriem, there are several lodges and campsites in Sesriem.
