Flatiron Building

The Flatiron building, or with it's official name the Fuller Building (designed by Daniel Burnham), was built in 1902 and was one of the first official skyscraper of New York. But today it is no more than a high building, the 82 meters are not very spectacular anymore. But that doesn't mean the Flatiron Building isn't spectacular, the opposit is true. The Flatiron Building is still a pretty building. When you like architecture, you definitly want to see this building.

When the building was built, the New Yorkers thought that it was inpossible that the building would not collapse. One corner of the building is only 2 meters wide, and many people thought that the building was not strong enough. But what many people did not knew, was that the Flatiron Building was one of the first buildings with a steel skelet inside the building.
