Climate information

New York is known for it's constantly changing climate. During winter times, it can be freezing cold, but during summer times, tropical tempuratus are no exception in New York.
The highrise district in Manhatten is known to have it's very own 'micro-climate', this is caused by the many skycrapers. The temperature in Downtown New York is always slightly higer than in the country site.


Winter
During the winter (December - March) it can be freezing in New York, the average temperature in this period is +1 degrees celsius. During the winter New York often get hit by a blizzard, extreme amounts of snow come down in a very short period of time, during a blizzard almost everything will come to a stand still.
If you are visiting New York during Winter times, you need to keep in mind that it can get cold, so take warm clothes and some waterproof shoes.


Summer
During the summer (June - September) the temperatures often get to tropical values. During the summer it is very likelt that New York will get tropical (thunder)storms. So be prepared, bring your sunglasses as well as a lightweight raincoat.

Spring and Autumn
De best time to visit New York is during the spring and autumn. The temperatures are not extremely cold or warm. And in this time of the year it is likely that Mother-Nature won't cause you any inconvenience.
