Lions Head

The lions Head is one of the two mountains that rise above the skyline of Cape Town. From far away, the Lions Head can be seen, that's also why it has got it's name, sailor saw a giant lion when the were sailing towards Cape Town.

Lions Head is just a small hump if you compare it with the Table Mountain, the highest point of Lions Head is approximatelly 694 meters, and much more easilly to be climbed than Table Mountain.

From the highest point of Lions Head, you have a magnificent view over the beaches (Camps Bay and Clifton) and the city centre of Cape Town.

Nowadays it is popular to climb the Lions Head with sundown, and have a picknick in the dark at the top of Lions Head.
