Font Màgica

The Font Màgica is a large fountain next to the Montjuïc.
The Font Màgica has been designed by the architect Carles Büigas and was built prior to the Universal Exhibition of 1929. The fountain was built to show what was possible with light, for that reason the fountain is often referred as magical.
After the Universal Exhibition, nowbody took care of the fountain. Only when the Olympic Committee apointed Barcelona for the Olympic Games of 1992, many districts of Barcelona were restored and rebuilt.

The Font Màgica is one of the tourist attractions of Barcelona. Most tourists visit the Font Màgica in the evening, when the light and the fountain create a magical atmosphere.
