Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia
The Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia is the Gothic cathedral seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Barcelona. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Eulalia of Barcelona, a young virgin who, according to Catholic tradition, suffered martyrdom during Roman times in Barcelona.
La Seu (as the Cathedral is often named) was constructed throughout the 13th to 15th centuries. During the 19th and 20th century, a new facade has been built and three new clocktowers have been built. The highest tower is 74 meters tall and was completed in 1913.
Nowaday's you can visit the cathedral and crypt, where the body of Saint Eulalia is entombed.
